I think originally the R=U debate came into existence because FFVIII couldn't stand the fact that Ultimecia was such a shallow, uninteresting villain. Although why they thought that a villain needs a "lolz dark past" to excel as an antagonist is beyond me.
Yeah it's just fans making stuff up so they have a reason to kill her. Ultimecia is what she is. Nobody believes my theory that Quistis is Ultimecia... The letters Q and U always go together, so Q=U. My logic is flawless and accurate.
How about U=U and R=R. Remember in the game someone said Ultimecia lives too far in the future for any of them to exist. OOH CANDY! Who was the first person to think of this idea anyway? I find it kind of funny.
