U2 sold out before the Apple thing ... and who honestly believes U2 ... or RHCP for that matter writes all 'Their' (a relative term) material.
So many ppl use ghost writers (ppl who do the work but don't receive credit for it) these days ... so they can look like its all original crap rather than someone elses crap their singin'.
And i guess i am a moron cause my group writes all original material (music and lyrics) and i have given away so many cd's cause for me and my group its all about the music !
We just want ppl to hear our music !
I garantee if somebody came up to you with a $50,000 contract, you'd sign it in a heartbeat. If you have to give your music away in order for someone to listen to it, it must not be all that great.

And ghost writers? What the hell?
I own my own record label ... i give away music as a promo (which i have had one person in the lot say it was good just not their cup of tea, everyone else loved it) ... i wouldn't sign a contract cause i don't want to be told how to write and record ... the 'it must not be good' comment is probly just cause i said your fav band sux ... u can listen to my music on another thread on this forum and tell me how bad i suck (go ahead ... i'll be right here, trying to stop laughing so hard, so i can answer the phone). and just because you never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist .... (ghost writing) ... (although i wonder why that could be ...)
Sorry Roto ... i will do my best not to loose sleep over it >.<
and thanx for the post Spaceman ... i needed a good laugh

not everyone is a Greedy SOB ...

Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.
