But I really see no reason why it's a bad thing to make a living out of what you are good at.

Attaching your music to products and such, THAT is selling out. But making music and getting money for it? Nah.
I don't know why ppl r thinking i am saying that if you sign a contract your a sell out ... cause i am not .
i was speaking about myself ... i do things differently ... i said signing contract would be bad for me cause i do things my way ... nobody elses. and if i were under contract that would skrew me.
i don't hate money ... i just hate some of the things most ppl do to get it ... and selling out (ok ... i am gonna spell it out for you all now ...) is when you r more interested in the money than the quality of the product. Attaching your name to a product is called endorsement if you or your music sux then your selling out . (maybe)
& NOT THAT YOU ARE MEDIOCRE MUSICIAN AND MAKING MONEY ... money doesn't give you talent ... but talent makes money ...
    so quit misquoting me !

and Kirobaito ... good luck to you on the music ... but you don't know what i am talking about ... i didn't say signing a contract is immoral ... lust of money is though !
and i don't think passion and making money are "Mutually Exclusive"
Do the elementary schools still teach reading comprehension (?)

Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.
