    Default Wow!

I listened to a CD by Grace Jones from 1998, and then to a remastered version from 2005. I discovered things in the 2005 version I never heard in the 1998 version.

Remastering is a great thing, especially since you discover little things you didn't hear in previous releases.

Has that ever happened to you?

    Wait for it...

Hmmm, I never really sit and actually listen to very many songs other than just letting them run through the background, so I'm sure I miss things that I shouldn't anyway.

No. I can never hear any difference when an album is remastered.

Try using headphones, and I guarantee that you'll hear a difference.

I dislike remastered versions of albums very much. I prefer the warm fuzzy sounds of the originals compared to the high digital sounds of remastered works.

Yeah, remastering can be a bad thing as easily as it can be an advantageous one. I particularly prefer the rustic analog sound for folksy stuff like the Grateful Dead.

I had a tape version of Emerson Lake and Palmer's first album. I bought the remastered CD version and when I listened to the I couldn't beleive how good it sounded... I could hear notes I had previously never heard. I always maintain that that album was the best remastering I'd ever heard.
