Which Final Fantasy would be the best if turned into a movie?

I actually agree with that. Even though most of the characters were somewhat bland, it still has the best movie potential.

I agree with vivi_ultima! haha could you imagine a movie of FFIX? That... would be such a hard thing to do, but they could get away with it with CG, I mean, look at FFVII:AC.

I chose FFIV. I could easily see that as a movie or series of movies, and it would be phenomenal. If treated properly, one of the most amazing and unique movies created (though I'm sure there'd be a hint of LotR-esque feel to it).

I would also have to say VIII. Unfortunately, as has been said, it would be hard to get the entire plot into a single movie. Ooh, wait, we could make it like LotR! Three wonderful, lengthy movies. The disc changes make fairly ready made movie breaks (3 and 4 would be one movie). With WETA workshop doing the special effects, and Peter Jackson directing, and, and...

In all seriousness as with the book-into-film adventures of the past, I don't think such a feat could be managed without disappointing people immensely. Maybe an anime series or something, but trying to cram a 30 hour game into a 2/3 hour film would be insanity. Unless it turned out like the Mario film.

VI would be truly Epic and need to be broken down into different movies. At least one for the WoB and one for the WoR.

Final Fantasy 1.

Seriously, because the directors would have more creative license to work with this one than they would with any other FF. While at the same time, they would have the liberty to more heavily incorporate themes that became popular in future FFs, and expand on the existing story of FF1. Trust me, it's there, it just waits until the latter parts of the game to expand on it at all. ^_^ As a final point, my opinion is that every FF including and after FF3j is just too long and involved to effectively condense into a movie plot.

IV, VI, VII and X seem like the best to make movies out of..
but since i have to choose i'd say X

Probably X-2. I could honestly say they could digest the main idea of the game into a movie. Of course, it wouldn't even make sense to make it into a movie anyway.

For all the rest, there's no way to cram ~20~40 hours of play into one 3-hour movie.

Well most of that is leveling up and fighting, which would go quicker in a movie.

I would say FFX. The ending was wonderful. Sad, but wonderful.

Final Fantasy 8, definetly! It has romance, funny parts and action... I'd like to see who would play Quitis!

IX is the best game-but it isn't movie material. I would have to say 8 also-and Tea Leoni could play Quistis all the way.

Some people say Uma Thurman would play the perfect Quistis, but I don't think so. Anyway, FFVIII would be the best as a movie because it has a lot of movie elements.
