The Lord of the Rings. Times three.

    EDIT: Some other good-but-not-comparable-to-the-LoTR movies:

    *Almost Famous
    *The Notebook
*Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
*Perhaps Love (a Chinese movie, but great theatrics nonetheless!)
    *The Parent Trap
This subliminal message could be meant for YOU. But it's probably not. Move along ;D

Casablanca. There are movies I love more: Empire Strikes Back, Jerry Maguire, High Fidelity--but Casablanca is the better film.

    Ikiru (Kurosawa).
    Rashomon (Kurosawa).
    Three Colours (Kieslowski).
    The Decalogue (Kieslowski).
    2001: A Space Odyssey (Kubrick).

In fact, most films by any of these three K's are in general vastly superior to most other films. I could mention more by each, but figured I should limit it. Fellini's films get a very honoruable mention too, as well as the Godfather Trilogy.

Princess Mononoke is easily my number one favorite movie of all time, followed by They and The Last Samurai.

No matter how much you and Sigmund Freud want it to be, 'mother' is not a curse word.
