Although I hate FF9, it has the best beginning! Just a few popcorns and I'd think I was watching a film!

FF8 EASILY IMO. It had awesome dramatic music, a sweet fight scene and gorgeous graphics.

VIII, but VI has a nice opening too. Especially if you consider the age of the game. The Magitek soldiers on their way to Narshe. Chilling.
The FMV for the PS1 version is also really good.

VIII, VI, and IX had the best opening scenes in my opinion. Yes, I have a hard time picking one when it comes to most things.

FF6 for me. The snow march. Mysterious, enchanting and captivating. The first game to me that opened like a movie. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it. I could tell it was going to be something special.

As far as best FMV opening I think 8 was the best
Game Opening I loved 7 though, you were straight in there with the action
