Simply curious as to what the breakup may be of what people most often listen to.
If you're like me, you don't simply listen to one style, but there is one particular genre that you find yourself listening to the most. Choose that one, thanks.

I listen to folk music. There are many kinds of folk music, ranging from traditional folk, which is Stephen Foster(aka the guy who wrote "Oh Susanna")-esque to 60's folk, also called singer-songwriter folk, which incorporates Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs, James Taylor, John Denver, Eric Andersen, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul, and Mary. I also like pop-folk, which is more what John Denver does along with artists like Don McLean and Simon and Garfunkel. To me, that kind of music is sincere in what it preaches. People do not become folk artists for the culture of music, but to preach a honest and very real message to the world.
I despise anything hard, because it's hard for the sake of being hard, not for the sake of actually making good music. Plus... it just doesn't sound good. I can handle some soft rock, but not much.

My music taste is either rock or metal.
I listen to way too many diffrent genres to choose just one. But in general, R&B/Hip Hip and Rock.
You guys think I ought to add a poll? There would only be 20 styles to choose from, and even if I grouped them together like this: ie. Metal/Nu-Metal/Progresive Metal/Death Metal/Black Metal, it would be difficult, I think...
...
I generally listen to rock, and everything that is considered any type of rock. Usually I'll listen to just about anything that sounds good to me, but if I had to pick one genre, then it would be rock.
No, don't add a poll.
My favourite genres include:
Metal (death, doom, black, industrial, folk, symphonic, post-black, progressive, thrash, etc.)
Industrial
Folk (Middle Eastern, East Asian, South American, medieval European, Scandinavian, etc.)
Classical
Progressive rock
Post-rock
Avant garde (not really a genre, but I value originality highly and listen to a lot of music that can't be put into existing genres)
I listen to lots of other stuff, but these are (some of) the genres I commonly listen to.
Rock, I suppose. Not normally the heavy stuff, but I'll generally listen to any of it.
No, I don't know all the little 'sub-categories', and don't care. It's all music to me.
Metal(leaning closer to) ~ Industrial ... but danc-E
IE. Razed in Black or NIN ... somethin
Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.
Metal (death metal, power metal, black metal)
Myself, if anyone is to care...
Industrial/EBM (ie: :Wumpscut:, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM)
