Do corsairs suck or are they good?
Do corsairs suck or are they good?
Define suck and good...
They can buff allies with a random chance of it being exceptioinally good or bad..or with bad judgment/luck they can make it so you lose it all. However they usually provide more good than bad considering your COR doesnt suck, and can still put out great damage. 600 dmg Slug Shot COR? Definetly possible. Evoker's Roll for Refresh? oh yeah.
A corsair's buffs are like playing blackjack on a scale of 1-11. 11 is jackpot, and 1-11 get stronger as the numbers get higher. Rolling a 12 is a bust and is undesirable. Each buff also has a lucky number besides 11 that's second only to 11 in potency. Since the highest number a corsair can roll on a single die is 6, a conservative corsair can hold on any number 6 or higher and never bust, ever. I however held on 7 or higher, because well, it's a gambling job.
I wanna do Cor !!! It looks like sooo much fun !
Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.
{Evokers Roll} + {Experience points} {Yes please}![]()
I played with my first COR a couple days ago. Reminded me of a bard, except with guns.

Cor are fun to pt with, I think. My highest job is 32 so I don't know what it's like partying with them past that, but it's been fun so far. They just make things easier for everyone. Similar to bard, but they're pirates.
No.
Corsair+Bard= "YOHOHO AND A BOTTLE OF RUM"
jkhkjg
there definetly one of my faveorite Allies.
I love there smexi randomized buffs (speccially if you get the best one).
and the ONLY thing they have minutely in a relation to a Bard is the fact that they can buff party members, Id definetly rule a fact out that Corsair is similar to Bard because it just isnt a truth![]()
All jobs are good.
"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."
Not just that; all jobs have their place in the game. We all know that many are interchangable in most party situation (most specifically the different DDs), and because of this, people start to name some jobs better than other.
I really liked corsair the last time I partied with one. Evoker's and healer's role were freakin' awesome on top of my refresh.
