The guards in Sector 7 Slums...

During the beginning of the game, two guards in Sector 7 Slums (a wimp and a toughie) seem to guard some place close to that giant tower.
Are they supposed to leave later in the game, allowing you to reach a secret area, or something?

they're guarding the entrance to sector 6, just to make sure you don't go there before youre supposed to

In that case, I think they could've mentioned Sector 6, so I don't have to feel like I'm missing a great area.

yeh that just leads to the playground where aeris n clo9ud saw tifa come through the huge gate on that wagon. the huge gate is what the guards are guarding
