FFXIV Character

Laurelin Kementari (Sargatanas)

Unhappy Anybody else who was a tad disappointed?

I bought the GBA version two weeks ago (Europe version) and finished it like 10 days later. Not counting Lunar Ruins of course, I've done some trials, but I didn't have enough HP for Lunar Odin and no Lunar Curtains for Lunar Bahamut.

But eh, is it me or is Zeromus kinda too much Big Bangish in the European version? I mean, I was lv 55 with everybody (or higher) and I still couldn't beat him! I trained to lv 60 and still no luck! Why, you ask? Because... He... BIG BANGS EVERY TURN! I mean, I played a ROM of the American version of IV Advance and Zeromus was not that impossible, his Big Bang was strong but he didn't do it so much. He didn't act that much. But in the European version??? Every turn! Big Bang, Big Bang, Big Bang after Big Bang. So fast Rosa can't even Cure. He doesn't even shake when he's going to use Big Bang. He just Big Bangs you, than uses Black Hole or Flare or something, but he does Big Bang every turn and slaughters you. Is this only in my game? Is this a glitch? Or is this completely normal? And my battle speed is on its slowest speed, but still it took my quite some turn before I could finally beat him.

Sorry guys, but this Big Bang experience ruined a part of the coolness of Zeromus for me. He's like Dark Cloud now, just one attack which he uses over and over...

I also did not like the fact that he sinks out of the screen rather than in the universe, like in the SNES version, or that he doesn't crumble, like Chaos or Emperor in DoS... They nerfed Zeromus for me... Too bad, he was one of my fav End Bosses untill now...

Even his music isn't as cool... Way too... techno? The SNES version had a more... Dark atmosphere, but this one? Maybe I'm just being negative... But still... Where's the Final Boss I loved so much in the SNES version? And not because he was easy, because I hated that... It's just... Something is missing... I don't have this "This is the Final Boss, let's beat him up and finish the game!" feeling, like I had when facing Chaos or Emperor.

I don't know... It's probably me... Maybe you'll want my head for this but... I think Dawn of Souls stands above IV Advance... The ATB still was a bit glitched in the European version, like Curaja or damage numbers appearing too slow on the screen while selecting your next move...

But I'm happy I have it, even if Zeromus is nerfed, I still have those awesome Lunar Ruins and Zeromus EG.
Yet, I want to ask, does anybody feel like I feel? Or is it just me? Is it normal for Zeromus to Big Bang the crap out of me?
I would like to know...
Most of these things are details of course, but quite important details, if you ask me...

Zeromus used Big Bang on me quite a bit, but it never did any major damage, about 1800 - 2200 HP. It never killed any of the party instantly, and I was always able to use Rosa's Curaja. I never had a problem beating him either, I did It on the first attempt at around lv 55 - 63. Whenever I could I had Rydia Summon Bahamut, which alway's resulted in Zeromus using Flare Instead of Big Bang, It would do alot of damage to whoever It hit, but spare the rest of them. Then I'd just have Cecil, Kain, and Cid attack. I had more trouble defeating the earlier Bosses.

i really liked FFIV advance. i didn't notice any glitches or anything that you are talking about. zeromus DOES use big bang a load... i beat him first time i met him, but then my GBA ran out of battery before i could save it. since then i have levelled up about 5 levels and tried to beat him about 4 times, to no avail...

but other than this i don't have any problems!

(SPOILER)Lunar Bahamut is one of the bosses you fight in the Lunar Ruins. He's appears in Kain's trial

Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

id imagine the GBA version would be easier than the other versions. did you guys find it easier than the PS1 and snes version? ive always liked snes style music and making the music modern isnt always a great thing. i'll judge for myself when i hear it.

That was the most unnecassary remark on this entire thread be ashamed of yourself

I beat him in the 50s (Like 50-52) with the party your suppose to face him with in the old one (Kain, Rosa, Egde, Rydia, Cecil)

Of course my strategy was awesome (if I do say so myself)

Big Bang weakened my party I let Rydia stay dead then I quickly healed everyone but Kain, Big Bang killed him. From there Curaja would heal 2,000+ because only 3 party members where left so Rosa used Curaja every turn fully healing my party Edge and Cecil (My two strongest at the time) would attack, or heal Rosa's MP when necessary worked like a charm.

Also I believe the hardest version is the PS1 version (GBA was too easy)
I can't wait for my PS1 Version to arrive

ive played the PS1 version and the disk still works. in fact im planning to start a new game soon because ive never got around to beating the final dungeon and FF4 is the only FF i own and havent completed. i enjoy FF4 because of its difficulty. i already reported that post to the moderators. ive heard the final boss is a good one and have heard te black mages version of the tune so im looking forwards to the battle.

I finished the main game in three days, but that was playing nearly non-stop...

Zeromus I rarely ever have trouble with, but a random screw up and delays left me with a double Big Bang or something...

Zeromus EG on the other hand... (lol most unoriginal secret boss name ever)

Hey, little n00b, I never said the game was disappointing, I said Zeromus was, kinda. Mainly because of his Big Bang-ish behavior and secondly his music, which was nerfed and worse than the original SNES music, which I loved.

And I beat the game in 12 days, playing only an hour or two each day.
Ah well, FF V Advance at least looks better than IV advance... IV felt just too rushed. Well, I don't regret buying it, (I till VI on my DS Lite, the ultimate goal of every portable gamer!)

Don't worry, I beat the game in two days. I did the Lunar trials in another.

The glitches were noticeable (get two turns in a row), and the Grimoires on Zeromus EG. But overall, the game was really easy. The music is of course downgraded, the GBA doesn't really have great sound quality (makes me fear for FFVI Advance).

They're additional bonus features in FFIV Advance.
