Hi I need some help with the weapons in this game. Are the second best weapons the one wantz sells at macalania after I customize them?

It depends on what you mean by second best. By some definition, one could be second best, while another could fulfill the same requirements and not be classified the best. Since there are no stats, only abilities, you must use the equipment with the abilities that you find useful or suitable for your fighting style.

However, anything that is purchased is not the best. There's alot of (overall) better items that are dropped, customizable, or just plain better because of the resale/negative cost value.

Nope. And there's no such thing as a second best weapon. You can pretty much finished the game with a standard weapon that you used through the game, but to beat Dark Aeon and strong monster in the Monster Arena, then you must use "the best" weapon.
