Um...I'm sure they probably already have a thread on this...
But, I would have to say Aeris.
The name Aeris was a translation error. The reason she is called Aerith is because it comes from the Japanese katakana word "Earisu" which means earth. The Japanese language does not have a "th" sound, so they use the "s" sound to represent "th". Hence, Earisu translates to Aerith.
Edit: Plus all I meant by that statement is that's who my favorite character is.

'Earth' in katakana is 'aasu'. Wasn't this covered in the other thread? Anyway, her name is Aerith, and was translated to Aeris for the reason you already said.
Anyway, my favorite character is Kitten Sith. No one can resist the awesome power of Kitten Sith. And he's a kitty. He just can't lose.
