Geckos
Does anyone know a lot about African Fat-Tail geckos? i have 2 and one ish very sick. he will not eat and you can see the outline of his skeleton. he has been like this for a few weeks..and i dunno what to do, i am realyy worried he will die. can someone tell me what to do? or at least give me a link to a page about african fat-tail illnesses??? please help

my momma doesnt think there is anyone around who knows anything about geckos.
Is it really so hard to google it yourself? And yeah, most vets wouldn't know diddly squat about what to do with a reptile.

we already used google. and excite and other search thingies, and the best we have found was something about a parasite. but that was for leopard geckos and it said it would kill them in about 5 days. but its been about 4 weeks, so that cant be it.
Why not ask at a gecko forum instead of a Final Fantasy forum?

Take him to a vet, right now!
Do you have a zoo local to you that houses reptiles? If you do, then you should contact them. They should be able to give you advice on what to do, an put you in touch with a vet that will know about reptiles. If not, then if you have a pet store near you that sells reptiles, they should also be able to help you. When you say sick, do you mean that it's just not eating an that's making it ill, or does it have other symptoms? Are you giving your Geckos calcium supplement? Are your Geckos housed together? Have you tried feeding the Gecko different types of food?
no, we dont have anyone around us that knows about geckos...and the people at the pet stores dont know anything (they said my pet rat was a girl...it was a boy. and they said my hampster was male...it had babies 2weeks later...)and he isnt eating, he could be getting sick from that..i dont know where to find that calcium stuff and they are in the same aquarium and they eat the same thing. crickets.

If it's not having calcium supplement, that is most likely the problem. Your Geckos need calcium supplement. You can buy it here: http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?familyid=10655 Although if you're buying the crickets you feed them from a pet store that sells food for reptiles, they should sell it there. An African fat-tailed Geckos are best kept alone, so you might be better seperating them.
Does he have a place where he feels secure to eat? Apparently reptiles don't like big open cages (terraneums) and when they feel exposed like that, it can affect their eating. At least, that's what this site claims. http://www.proexotics.com/FAQ2.html
