Any type of guitar really (acoustic, electric, bass, steel, all good ). Although I prefer electric and acoustic out of those four, they are all good imo. Also, I can't think of the instrument but you hear it alot I think in japanese instrumetal type songs, it might be a sitar (or it could just be a violin lol).
