Thread: Names in KH2...

  1. #1

    Default Names in KH2...

I noticed that they don't actually say Aerith's or Tifa's names... (as far as I know, I haven't fought the final battle yet, that's all I got left, but I'm training for Sephiroth and stuff). And it bugs me one Tifa is said:

"Tifa" or "Teefa"... I always say "Tifa".
Aurora, exhale bloody air! Dark Holy!

Cloud says "Teefa's" name after you defeat Sephiroth.

Yes, there's a line when Cloud says "Tee-fa! Stay back!" in KH2. I've always pronounced Tifa's name Tee-fa, and I think Advent Children also pronounces her name that way (at least the Japanese version). I don't think Aeris/Aerith's name has ever been pronounced in a Square Enix title, though.

    Wrong.

    Space Paranoids:

    Sora: Great!

    Tron: So who's this Cid?

Sora: He's a friend of ours. Leon, Merlin, Aerith, Yuffie... They're all on the outside worrying about you, Tron.

Tron: I must have a lot of User friends.

There is a definite way to decide aeriths name:
If you think ff7's antagonist is Sephiroth, her name must be Aerith.
If you think it's Sefiros, it's Aeris. In Japanese ther is a consonant that can be either S or TH, which explains why some asian people lisp. There's also oe that can be l or R. nuff said.

Cool. How is Aeris/Aerith's name pronounced there?

I think it was like we all imagined it. "Air - e(i)th."

I would have to play to that part again and frankly I never want to play KH2 again. ^_^

I'm not sure anymore whether I'm happy with games that include voice-acting. I don't care if they're words don't synch up with the character's mouths like some idiots who complain about them. I just wish I had the chance again to play a game and be the rare one who pronounced their names correctly without hearing it spoken.

    In FF7, I called Aeris "air-eez" because I pronounced Tifa "tee-fa."
I haven't heard Red XIII's real name spoken allowed. I used to call him "nuh-NAH-key" and now I call him "Nah-Nah-key."
I think when I first saw her name I called Yuffie "Yuff-ee." I might have heard her name spoken sometime after and started calling her "You-fee." Pronouncing her name would have been easier if it had been Yuufie. lol

Am I the only one who originally called Seifer "Safer?" When I read somewhere that his name sounded more like "sigh fah," I just started calling him "Cypher."

Name's like Edea (E-D, I think) and Adelbert (Adel-bert?) still put a MGS-style question mark floating over my head.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.

    In Kingdom Hearts it's Air-ith, everywhere else it's air-ess.

    Yeah me too.

I think the real question is:

    How do you pronounce,Zell?

    (Ze-L)

    (Zee-L)

    (Z-L)

(Zay)-As in the Spanish language where two Ls make an AY sound.

Zell, short e. Like the pronunciation of the letter l with a z tacked on the front. It's a real name. There's some American politician with the name. Ex-senator or something to that effect. I can't remember.
