I'm not sure, but I think a thread I made during April Fools was closed without any posts. I daresay I deserved it.

It's not a matter of making POINTLESS threads, but rather threads that will incite just the right mix of stupid people and cynical bastards so as to make it a breeding ground for the "Show Idiocy > Insult >Bad Come Back > further insult" chain.
