A friend told me he heard of a 3D Guilty Gear game for the PS3. Does anybody know if it's a hoax?
If it's true it better not be a smurfing fighting game.

I woudln't say he was lying, all he said was he seen some E3 pictures and he saw a screen of somebody in 3D that looked like Bridget.
If there will be a Guilty Gear game for the Pieces of 3 and if they expect people to play it then it better be an action or adventure game, like Devil May Cry or something.
Guilty Gear for the PS3 would make me cry.
Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
All the news sites would have covered it months ago if it had been at E3, and a quick search shows no trace of such a game.
I hope it dosent turn out like that, Guilty Gear should stay as a fighting series, I'd rather see it turn into a 3D fighter. If Street Fighter and KOF have taught us anything, is that 2D - 3D is bad bad bad, but in that small chance that GG did turn out to be good in 3D, well, awesomness would presume...
But a Guilty Gear action game would probably make sense. Its a fighting game that crams a ton of unessesary storyline down your throat, man. I think an action game showing off events that took place before and/or after GGXX happened would probably make the series have miore credibility. Like an action game that shows what Sol did with the Fireseal after he stole it from the Holy Knights.
I'd rather play as Holy Order Sol, and play around the time when he was part of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights..
eh.. as long as they kept the 2-Dness of it....
Yeah, they could still improve the graphics and gameplay of it whilst keeping the 2D-ness.
Capisce.

That would be cool if they had a Guilty Gear for PS3. What's so bad about it being a fighting game?
They don't want their favourite 2D fighter to become a 3D fighter, that's all, Shout.

everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
If it was 2D, I'm sure they wouldn't need to make it a PS3 game. 2D sprites don't nearly take up as much space as 3d models, and a 2D game probably won't need to have 25+GBs of space. That's a waste.
If they keep the fighting game 2D, and if it's possible to keep it on a PS2 disc, I say go for it. It'll be cheaper to produce, which results in a potentially cheaper game for the consumers, plus more people will have access to it.
Also, graphics aren't the only thing that would improve with a platform upgrade, there could be more characters, game modes, stages etc...
Capisce.
