Hi this is a n00b question but how do I add that spoiler thing so people can't see what it is with highlighting it.

(SPOILER) Use the brackets [] and write spolier in one, then write what you want hidden. At the end of whatever you wrote, type /spoiler inbetween two brackets ["spoiler"]["/spoiler"] with out the quotes.
