I was dead set on being a DRG when I first got the game. I wanted to run around with a cool little wyvern!

I'm not really sure what happened that, but I'm completely content as a BLM these days. There's a bunch of other jobs I'll be trying my hand at before I even glance in the way of the DRG quest.

DRK never held any interest to me.

When I first started, I never considered either. I was a mage type all the way. When I had trouble with leveling BLM on my first character, I mucked around with a bunch of different jobs early on, mostly melee. Eventually I settled on WAR unsure of what to procede to afterwards. I quit and swore that if I ever came back I'd be a tarutaru dark knight.

I can't say that I was interested in becoming a dark knight because it looks dark and mysterious, or that it deals some massive damage. Rather, it had to do with the fact that I thought playing a tarutaru melee of any sort would be fun as hell. I chose DRK simply because it made use of my tarutaru's stats better than any other tarutaru melee would. More specifically, I could actually use my massive INT and larger MP pool. I quit at level 40 when the accuracy craze was really raging and people were starting to tell me I had to get sniper's rings.

Recently I'd been wondering what job I was going to take up after RDM, and ever since the new patch and the addition of Absorb-TP, I became interested in DRK again. I really enjoyed being a melee that could not only cast spells, but also deal good damage. I liked being able to actually use the absorb- spells. I've noticed that other DRKs simply don't because they don't have the MP for it. I've seen DRKs that don't cast magic at all, which seemed like a horrible waste to me. While the damage wasn't absolutely huge, I was also able to burst on my own skillchains, which was really quite fun. I even kept up with good equipment, so I was outdamaging most other melees I encountered anyway. I wasn't really surprised by the rampant mediocracy of the majority of melee players.

I was never interested in Dragoon or Dark Knight; nevertheless, I acknowledge the appeal of these jobs as standard Final Fantasy jobs that are received well by the general public.
I believe in the power of humanity.

when I first started playing it was MNK and RNG all the way. Then once I joined my LS the three main guys in there at the time where all DRGs. I would listen to them talk about it and thought to my self yeah that would be cool to be like them.

Now that I am lvl 30 MNK I stuck with my original plan and still got RNG before DRG. AS for DRK the only reason I am currently working on it..(but due to maintinence can't complete it just yet ) is becasue it is incredibly easy compared to some of the other advanced job quest out there.

And yet it's also one of the, if not the, most tedious.

My goal is to level quite a few classes. They include Paladin, Whm, Blm, Rdm, Ninja, Ranger, Warrior and Summoner. I can do a bit of mix and match with all those...should be a long amount of arduous leveling...prolly will never happen...im gonna have to decide what I wanna be...lol

I know its a dumb idea and someone would only do this for fun, not for actual questing/missions, DRG/SMN? This way you can have your wyvern and a summon helping you. I know, dont flame me. Like I said, it would just be for fun when your bored.

Not to mention the Wyvern is supposed to mimic your second job. So if your a summoner wouldnt that mean it would summon things? lol

No the wyverns abilities are decided by your sub job. There are 3 types of wyverns, offensive, defensive and balanced.
Offensive is when you sub stuff like warrior or samurai, they use breath attacks n stuff.
Defensive heals you when you cast magic sometimes, this is when you sub black mage n white mage n stuff.
Balanced is a mix of both, with jobs like... Paladin subbed, etc.
