Default Bevelle Infiltration with the Leblanc Gang

Okay, I'm really confused. You know when you and the Leblanc Gang go down into Bevelle to see if they can find Vegnagun and take it apart?

Right before you see the pillars to find Dark Knight and Baralai, there's a big machina where Rikku says, "Hey, wasn't you know who here?" And Leblanc says, "Get your head out of the clouds."

I was reading a walkthrough, and apparently you can get two items called bloodlust and wring by doing something with that big machina. But, how do you do it? Also, I believe the machina is called Gaol.

Apparently so, yes. I went back there a second time and I found some sort of purple glyph on the ground, but it didn't do much.

I know how to do this!! *runs to get walkthrough*

Ok this is the basic Gaol:

F is the middle chunk and the numbers are the arms.

These are the five formations you can put the arms in [C=center, D=down, U=up]:

To put them in these formations you have to control them by the big purple glyph that's just off the left side of the path around the Gaol (between the passage in which you entered and the one you exit).

Now I can't remember exactly how it works but, I know you stand on it and the Gaol moves into formation 1. Now I can't remember if you have to get off then get back on to switch it to formation 2 or if it just continues moving. Same I can't remember if it stops on it's own, or you have to get off the glyph to stop it or you have to get on and then get back on to stop it. You'll have to experiment a bit.

    Anyway, Bloodlust:
Put the Machina in Formation 5 and get on Arm 1. Rikku will mess up the formation and nearly get poor old Yuna killed. Get in a safe position and tell Rikku to put the Gaol into formation 5 again. She'll do so. Head to arm 4 and get off, run along the left ledge and youll find a chest. Bingo!

    Wring:
After Bloodlust, tell Rikku to put the Gaol in formation 4. Get on arm 3 and off at arm 4. Go into passage to get wring. When you come back out tell Rikku to put Gaol in formation 2 or 4. Jump on and get back to the ground via arm 1.

    Hope that makes sense.

This info is curtesy of another walkthrough but I couldn't find it so yeah credit to them whoever they were.

I remember doing that.... I was using the official guide, took me ages to work out how to get on the fricken machine, those guides are really annoying.

I don't think it's worth the effort really, you'll find yourself not using them at all. I don't.

 Whoo, thanks a lot for that info, I've always wondered about that. Even if I don't use the items, well, I like doing everything in the game.

You see, it's easier to keep trying and moving Gaol than actually using a walkthrough. I tried to use one, but I just couldn't understand crap and I thought it would be better doing it at random moves. It worked

I got all the treasure items, but was it actually worth doing? I mean, did you even get any percentage points from it?

If there's no cutscene involved in getting them, then I doubt it. These two definitely don't have % for them. And it is much easier working it out for yourself without a guide, the guide confuses it way too much...

I just got Bloodlust and tested it out in the Calm Lands...Definitely not worth it.
