I don't get why people hate FF7, FF8, and Xenogears, everyones entitled to their opinion, but those three are the penultimate rpg's for me

Tekken. I just don't see what the fuss is about. I liked Tekken and Tekken 3 a lot at the time, but then Soul Calibur came along...

For some reason people often seem to assume GTA fans are idiots. Yes its violent, and yes a lot of the humour is very basic, but if you actually ignore that and play it, its a damned impressive series. The sheer amount of things possible in San Andreas is just ridiculous. Get bored of the story? Drive around, race, do stunts, fly a plane, sky-dive, dance, sneak into houses and steal things, buy houses, get some clothes, take over territories, fly a jetpack, go to a casino, have dogfights with planes, look for hidden things, base jump, go swimming, build up your character... the list could go on for a LONG time...
Almost all of those things are executed pretty damn well. Whether to individual taste or not, the games are very well made.

You can't reasonably compare games released when computing power, maturity in the industry and its experiences/innovations/etc, social trends, and a myriad of other things, are all so different to each other. It was precisely because FFVII was something new and amazing to us that it was so lauded in the West and remains to this day one of the most important cRPGs (And possibly even games in general) ever made. It was a game which truly wanted to be an artistic example, rather than something just to have fun with (And I would contend it resolutely succeeded), and whilst this had occurred before in other games it was something special for us. So yes, there is the nostalgic/emotional element, but you also have to look at the context the game was released in.

Also, I think Soul Calibur is the most overrated fighting game series of all time. It's mainly popular because it's... retardedly easy to play. A blind, dumbstruck, chimpanzee with one hand and a brokeN thumb can play that game and win.

FF8 - Honestly, there were 6 characters, lame villian, poor weapon system, too much reliance on GFs and a stupid storyline. (theyre all in the same orphanage? oh Pl.ea.se)


Gta isnt overated at all.

By the end of the game, I never used GFs. Actually, I don't think I used them any time after the part where you fight the Aliens on the Ragnarok.

I'll go with...Street Fighters. All of them.

And any GTA is awesome. I remember GTA 1. That game was hilariously stupid.
