    It works now!
I actually think my brother attempted to fix it a while ago, and he managed, it seems.

    Still, thanks everyone.

bipper - now I can read your SPOILER.

Normally if that happens for a wireless mouse, first thing I do is press the Connect button on it's underside then on the base station to make them see each other again, since they've usually lost each other somehow

And nothing brings a tear to cl_out's eye faster than a mouse that's lost it's way home.

cl_out in kindegarten-Whoa whoa whoa, Miss Lippy. The part of the story I don't like is that the little boy gave up looking for Happy after an hour. He didn't put posters up or anything, he just sat on the porch like a goon and waited. That little boy's gotta think 'You got a pet. You got a responsibility.' If your dog is lost you don't look for an hour then call it quits. You get your ass out there and you find that smurfing MOUSE!

    For future reference, always:
    - Press the connect button on the wireless receiver and the mouse.
    - Make sure you plug the mouse receiver into the USB port before plugging in the computer power cord. (some Dells actually require this, for some strange reason)
    - Make sure you have the correct mouse drivers installed.

You don't need a mouse to read spoilers. Ctrl + A ftw.
