Whoever thinks that is true ("peeps only like Dimebag because he's gone") is way off and doesn't know what kind of crazyness they are regurgitating !
He is just a plain bad ass guitarist ! 'Nuff said .
Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.

Pantera. Just because they have their minds in the right place. (As is caring more about the music and less about how much money they can make by starting lawsuits, etc.)

To counter that I got to tell you that mister bitchman freak Lars Ulrich started the whole hassle with napster, if it weren't for him maybes St Anger could of been better. Dimebag Darrel is more over rated than Hammet and Kerry King. He seemed to have gotten a huge fame boost for being killed. Wow, lovely.

I like both, but I think Metallica's Master of Puppets album beats anything Pantera produced, so I went with Metallica.

I would have gone with metallica because their first 4 albums were my favorite since childhood ... but honestly Lars has ruined Metallica for me so whatever for them ... they should get Igor from sepultura to replace that fat bastard Lars Whiney Ass Ulrich !

and strongly disagree with that ...

No, he was a very good guitarist and an awesome guy. He was one of my main influences as a guitarist, and I actually got to meet him when he was with Damageplan.

And Dimebag is nowhere near overrated, Hammet and King are because they suck. I love Metallica and Slayer, but neither guitarist is very good. Hanneman is a much better guitarist than King.

I find Pantera to my liking. Athough Metallica's earlier work is something I can enjoy, I have found that I can readily enjoy all of what Pantera produces, albeit a few songs here and there.

    So, for me, Pantera.
