There's a difference between changing certain parts of an IP to make it more appealing to a wider audience, and downright gutting it, chewing it up, spitting it out and building it back up again. If you look at the previous Transformers across all of the series, this is about as far away as you can get from the look of Transformers as possible. When they did Lord of the Rings, they didn't have elves with horns coming out of their head, and Gandalf a fifteen year old blonde girl. This "new look" is like a cross betwene Guyver and a broken Rubix Cube. It's going to be hated by fans of the original, as is being shown here, and I doubt the large majority of non-transformer fans are going to care either way. This is a really bad move on the designer's part for this movie, that can't be denied. If you're not willing to pander to the fan base in the least, who exactly have you got left?
There is no signature here. Move along.

I'm not really a big Transformers fan, and I think that redesign is a total monstrosity. It's actually kinda scary!

I wouldnt even closely relate that with Transformers, what were they thinking.....

I think it looks totally awesome cool. But it should not be done. It just isn't Autobot-ee at all. I mean, come on. It is too 'futuristic' looking for a Transformers movie. I still can't wait for this movie though. I totally grew up on these guys.

The head's the main problem IMO and it needs some decent Decepticon colours on it. Where are the eyes?

Telling us to "deal" is like telling us to not have an opinion. People have a right to "not deal", people will continue to "not deal", and people will continue to not "get used to it". You're talking about years of childhood memories here. They don't just evapourate into the ether just because some designer decides to shove some random mess of modernised rubbish under our noses.

And if you want to see a half-decent rendition of a Transformer, which isn't even done by the makers of this movie, this is a pretty good reference.

Lets put aside that fact it looks different. Megatron, as i have known used to transform into a gun... not a plane or whatever. that i think is probly the most f'd up thing. its not like eww he looks sooo different and still turns into a gun. they completely made him unidentifyable to the people who watched the ORIGINAL show. Thats just me, and i personaly don't feel like dealing atm. You may like it Raebus and good for you *gives Raebus a cookie* but i am now leery of the whole thing. I agree with Maxx Power.
Chuck Noblet: Can anyone tell me the tragic irony of the Trojan War? Tina? Tina: Um, that horses are friendly creatures yet a hollow, wooden one was used to destroy Troy? Chuck Noblet: Wrong and no. Anyone else? Chip? Chip: That the mighty warrior Achilles was killed by a small cut to his ankle. Chuck Noblet: Chip is wronger. OK, here it is. The tragic irony of the Trojan War is that though it was fought over Helen, who was young and beautiful, by the time they rescued her ten years later, she was old and ugly. Tina: But wasn't recovering the king's wife reward enough for the Greeks? Chuck Noblet: Tina, an ugly woman is never a reward.
