While they may not be the greatest, here are some of my favorites:
James Hetfield (early Metallica preferrably, esp. Kill 'em All)
    David Gilmour - Pink Floyd
    Roger Waters - Pink Floyd
    Chris Cornell - Audioslave, Soundgarden
    Mikael Akerfeldt - Opeth
    Robert Plant - Led Zeppelin
Maynard James Keenan - Tool, A Perfect Circle
    David Draiman - Disturbed
    Benjamin Burnley - Breaking Benjamin
Lead singer from Dream Theater (can't think of his name)
    Cristina Scabbia - Lacuna Coil
I'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones I can think of right now.

    James LaBrie, I believe.

I was never too much into Freddie Mercury. He had a good voice, but I wasn't really into Queen all that much.

Janis Joplin is a GODDESS. Freddie Mercury's voice is amazing. I love Bob Dylan's slurred tones and unpredictable timing xD Johnny Cash's voice is perfection. Jeff Buckley is amazing. Jim Morrison is also godly. 'nuff said.
This subliminal message could be meant for YOU. But it's probably not. Move along ;D

Some of my favourite singers would be:
    Lupen Crook
    Fionn Regan
Pete Doherty & Carl Barat- The Libertines
Stuart Murdoch - Belle & Sebastian
    Kimya Dawson
    Paul McCartney - The Beatles

Yeah, there are more but no, I am not going to write them all out.

I can't believe I forgot about him. Yes, Freddie Mecury is up there on the list! I was so sad when he died.

Yeah, it's a tragedy. I shudder at the thought of their new lead singer - nobody can replace Freddie, so why even try.

    DIO! DIO! DIO! DIO!

Come on, how could you forget about Ronnie James Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Dio. He's a legend, greater than Ozzy.. That's almost as bad as forgetting Freddie Mercury.

The one that immediately came to mind was Kurt Cobain. Wow what a voice.

Also, Maynard James Keenan and Robert Plant. Matthew Bellamy is also good. I think Freddie Mercury has a good voice and all, but it doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't "speak" to me.
