Yep, as mentioned earlier, "Eyes on Final Fantasy" is a pretty bad example since it starts with a vowel either way. However, I always put AN in front of all abbreviations. I can't think of an exception.
I'd talk about the content of the thread, so I'd say neither. For example...
"You know, that EoFF thread that states Ken is a ponce."
