Yes, Final Fantasy VI in PS2 will kick FFX's (And X-2) ass! But never to be compared with FFXII.......

Anyway, if they do make a remake/sequel/prequel, make it for PS2!!!!!! Since, it'll be three or four years from now until I get my hands on PS3. Yeah, I'm not rich.

PS: FFVI looks cool in 3D graphic, and that'll attract FFVII fanboys to play it and eventually, open their mind for all FF.
