Sadly not, as far as I know. DVDs will be regional, although not the same regions as they normally are. Or something. Anyway point is transnational movie companies are morons.
Fair to say, I shouldn't have included "necessary". But it really does look like HDTV is the way the industry is going, so it'll probably become ubiquitous, if not necessary, over the next few years.
yeah if you don't think HDTV is mandatory, look at dead rising for xbox360....i play it on my 32 inch CRT and i can't make out any of the in-game messages such as character speech on my screen without popping my eyes out of my skull
Yeah, but people are slowly going for HDTV nowadays.
SDTVs will be around and popular enough to warrant production well past the next console generation.
Not everyone wants a Blu-ray or HD-DVD drive. Sony is pushing the Blu-ray drives on the consumer hoping it will kill of the HD-DVD format.
Blu-ray movies are still encoded by region.
I read it, what's the point of it? It's just a bunch of opinions that we've all heard a dozen times before.

can you hear me in the void?
I don't think we've 'all' heard. These threads keep popping up, and people do keep saying the same stuff.
Perhaps new threads like this should just post that link and lock it.
PC > Any other console out there. The sooner y'all learn that the better.![]()
There is no signature here. Move along.
Then there's that redundant argument
PCs are different.
PC=360 but with less Sony hatred
Let me be more spesific then. x86 Win32 computer.

Both PC and 360 are pirat machines...so you could get any game you wanted. It just wouldn't run right. :P
