The only problem I have with the game is that I can't stand leveling up. I was Level 10 when I got the class change and I died at least 9 times to get through the Castle of Ordeals.

It's still very VERY fun to play though.

woah... level 10? holy carp on a crackerjack! How the heck did you get that far? You mean you got past the Ice cave at level 10?!?... dude... thats impressive.
You should try for a low level run. I could never get past the Earth Cave before level 15 at least! You don't even get level 5 magic by then. You wouldn't have had Fire 3! How could you manage that?

I pretty much just settled with Fire 2 And Harm 2. And I never really fought much, I really only killed stuff that could be damaged by Harm. I died a LOT. And I mean A WHOLE LOT.
