My sound recorder is in my webcam

So it only works when I'm using the webcam, or push stuff in say msn that automatically record sounds. I dunno how to open it as a seperate thing purely to record sound. Helpmeplz

Open your volume properties (double click the little speaker icon in your taskbar) go to options/properties, click the radio button that says "recording" and make sure your webcam is set as the "mixer device" and make sure 'microphone' is checked in the area below, then click okay, and then make sure the volume isn't super high or super low or muted. Then you should be able to record using sound recorder, or cdex or any program that you can record with.
