:mog: Wow that's cheap. I bet you ran the electricity bill up a couple hundred dollars by doing that.

Ridwan, I don't believe you. You'd have to leave your game running for 2 years, 98 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes and 28.2666 seconds for the timer to cycle through all the colours and eventually reset to 00:00:00, unless you're running the game on an emulator.

Of course, you'll have gone through more than just through the different
colours, and into a number of graphical glitches, but it'll happen. (Or rather,
I've yet to test any value of the game clock where the counter *stops*
incrementing or caps, and I've watched it reset finally under test conditions
    over the last final seconds)

    There's just one final problem.

The time required for the clock to reset starting from 00:00:00?

    2 years, 98 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes, 28.2666 seconds.

    Have fun waiting.

Actually, there's only one main graphical glitch that I've seen, due to a logic
error... then it finally corrects itself after an hour. No idea if it ever
glitches again after that. It still doesn't *cap* though.

From 0 to 99 hours, the time display is white.
From 100 to 199 hours, the time display is red.
From 200 to 299 hours, the time display is yellow.
From 300 to 399 hours, the time display is blue.
From 400 to 499 hours, the time display is purple.
From 500 to 599 hours, the time display is green.
At 600 hours, the display glitches for the next hour.
At 601 hours, the display returns to 99:59:59 in green, and stays like that
    until the counter resets (theoretically).

And if you want to know how the number is arrived at... well, reverse the
process and work out how it compares to standard overflow limits of integers.

601 hours makes out as 25 days and 1 hour not 2 years 98 days 12 hours,6 minutes and 26.2666.

Is the sword really worth blazing through the game (I will assume leveling is not sufficiently done) or waiting til your kids move out (in which case you learn every ability and all characters are now level 500)?

Notice the (theoretically)? That means that going by Terence's calculations, the timer keeps counting for 2 years, 98 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes, 28.2666 seconds, even though the graphical display only shows a green 99:59:59.

I believe so. It is more trustworthy than someone claiming the timer resets as soon as it hits 99:59:59.

Atomos199 managed to get the Excalibur II and all the misable items in the game, thus creating the first 'perfect' FFIX file. Click here and read his guide (Excalibur II Perfect Game Guide). You can level up and learn the abilities after you get Excalibur II.

I got the Excalibur II twice. Once was just getting it, and the other was getting it while getting all the other stuff as well (doing a perfect file as mentioned above). It's just a built in challenge, it's kind of fun. If you go through the game this quickly then the Excalibur II will be uber powerful because you'll be at such low levels, but otherwise it doesn't really hold it's own as a weapon. A lot of people have done this, and there are guides with people doing this in a mere 9.5 hours. On my first file, I did it in 11 hours, and on the "perfect file" one I had like 2 minutes left. I don't see how it was done in 9.5 hours, but I guess it's possible.

Not that difficult to drop it down if someone is willing to reset their PS 5000000000000000000000 times every time they dont get things done in the EXACT manner and speed they intend. Most just take that extra hour and a half in time spent where You made it through the battles but didnt get it ended as fast as possible. Plus some other explanations I simply can't think of now I am sure.
Noone can clearly see what I truly am nor can they see what I am not. In this I am the greatest of mysteries and noone has yet been able to solve it. If you see me you haven't seen me. If you don't see me then you might have just seen me. And in the end you are all left to wonder if I actually existed at all or if i was simply a trick played upon your feeble minds.

I feel beating the game in 12 hours is impossible to me. Every time I replay the game, I always beat the game in 50 hours, more or less

    Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"
