I always use .gif and never seem to have a problem.![]()
Am I suppose to feel ashamed now?.:rolleyes2
I always have troubles when I save as .gif. All the colours quality gets lost.![]()
You shouldn't use GIF for still-images. Instead, you should use PNG 8-bit, which has the exact same number of maximum colours as GIF, but makes the files smaller. Not by a whole lot, but if you really care about making your files as small as possible, you should always use PNG over GIF.
everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
For me as well.Thanks Mirage!.
I use JPEG and adjust the quality with the slider on GIMP

.GIF has, on a few occasions, made my file size larger, and image quality alot poorer. I stick to .Jpeg, and Its usually in the 40kb mark.
I have found a new way to make filesize as small as you like and still keep the quality high, I thought to share it with anyone who likes to try it:
After finishing go file>save for web> in the new window that opens you'd find a menu to the right in front of the word preset there's an arrow. click on it and choose Optimised to file size.
enter your desired size and put it on Auto Gif/Jpeg. and save it.
I am not sure maybe many here knows about this way. I thought to say it though. :P
