I've never really gotten into the series, but with so many games coming out in the near future, I think that's going to change. A RTS/RPG blend sounds absolutely delicious.

Legend of Mana's graphics were lovingly detailed, hand-drawn 2D. You can't possibly compare them to low-res polygons. Apples and oranges.
Not just that. The whole scenery and how the gameplay looks doesn't look that great.
Looks confusing. That's probably just the Japanese text scarring my brain though.
Sigless
It looks interesting. An RTS on a handheld system seems a little crazy to me, but they might be able to pull it off.
I still wish they'd rerelease Secret of Mana though. That was my favorite of the series.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
A handheld with a stylus.
"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."
*worlds saddest face*
A peice of my heart just broke off. I was just talking about how I didn't like battle systems like that, just like.... 10 minutes ago. It -looks- pretty, but I don't think I'll feel very pretty inside playing it.
*walks slowly back to the Children of Mana thread where she makes her home, hoping to never hear of this blasphemy again*

I've managed to play this a little bit (I know someone with hax), just through the tutorial stage. It's pretty solid.

Square-Enix has announced today two big things for RPG fans. First, they will be bringing the DS strategy RPG, Heroes of Mana, to North America. In addition to that, they have also announced a release date for the upcoming PS2 RPG, Dawn of Mana, which is May 22nd. For those that buy Dawn of Mana, they will get Breath of Mana, a sampler disc that contains soundtrack selections originally released in Japan. That offer is available for those that purchase from Amazon.com, Game Crazy, GameStop, and EB Games.
"The two latest entries in the World of Mana series push the boundaries established in past titles to provide players with a new gaming experience inside a familiar setting," said Koichi Ishii, creator of the World of Mana series. "Dawn of Mana sets itself apart from action-RPGs of the past as an action-adventure game with an emphasis on action while Heroes of Mana, a strategy RPG, introduces entirely new real-time strategy elements to the series."
As mentioned earlier, Dawn of Mana will be released on May 22nd, and Heroes of Mana will be hitting stores sometime this summer.
