I think they take baths when they go to inns even though it doesn't show it.
^^^ those inns dont even have bathrooms and if they do, its only a toilet. obviously, theyre not going to take a bath when theyre trying to save the world. if i see a big meteor in the sky, what am i going to be thinking?..."HOLY CRAP!...I NEED TO TAKE A FRIKKIN BATH!"
Tidus and Yuna took a bath (of sorts) at Macalania. They just forgot their Lever 2000.
Brian: "If I remember correctly, this is the Physics Department."
Chris: "That would explain all the gravity."
In the medival books people took baths with bowls of water inside their inn rooms. I imagine it's much the same.
...
They dont bathe
They dont use the loo
they dont eat
they dont change clothes (unless its needed for the plot) I dont think the game makers ever thought people may like to see there cold badass squiting over a loo.
"NPC: Sorry this house is sealed off because of Blight"
A good question, one I've wondered about myself. Though no one could possibly imagine some of the characters using the restroom (Sephiroth... needing toilet paper????! I don't think so.) but they also don't want them to smell to high heaven. I would believe they do maintain a good hygiene, it's just that their wardrobe is either 1) extremly limited (one set of clothes), or 2) extensive, but just the same clothes (i.e. 3 pairs of pants and 3 T-shirts, all the same). I would like to believe the case would be the latter. Now the question is do they WASH those clothes???? I don't know of any case where they could wash their clothes, whether at an inn or wherever.
P.S. I also can't imagine Vincent singing in the shower.

If you had to walk full across the world would you carry fifteen different sets of clothes?

Okay, this is a bit too much. It's just a game.
They spit all over thereselves and wipe it around. That's the way people on Final Fantasy bathe.
yeah. in games no one really cares about this sort of realism. you wouldnt want to spend half of the time watching characters bathe, change clothes and go to the toilet. i could go into more detail about why it doesn't really matter for games but its all really obvious.
