ive got sonic one and two on sega and the mega collection on gamecube. man the originals rock, and as for the original question for this thread. first of all i do agree, the new ones arent very good, but i have no idea why.
I loved Sonic Adventure Battle DX and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
both lovely games, I loved the music aswell.
the music... however turned me off of Sonic Heroes, that and the unvarying gameplay.
with DX and Adventure 2 Battle, you had a Chao System and differant ways to play the game aswell.
... I ... honestly really liked the storylines aswell n_n-b
attenmsiion everybodymy Sonics 4d gaems were not bader, sahdow teh hgedgeho g was acially a prttyy fun game,
Don't worry about it too much. Learn how to recognize sarcasm.
The Sonic game for DS is called Sonic Rush
... wow, Sonic Heroes really sucked... in both storyline AND gameplay.
all that ... switchism. oh and Bigg was annoying >_>!
The only Sonic games that sucked were SonicN, Sonic Shuffle and Sonic Championship. Heroes wasnt a bad game but wasnt great either.
Damnit, I was drunk,
Translation of my post:
The 3D sonic games were not that bad. People just give them a bad rep because of crap places like Gamespy and IGN have to say.
That last sentence still didn't make any sense.

Personally, I agree that some people may be influenced by big site's opinions. However, there is always the possibility that people make that decision on their own, and I believe that the reason it got such a bad reputation was because the majority simply didn't like it.
Granted the 3D Sonic games weren't as good as the 2D ones on the Genesis and GBA but they were actually pretty good. I mean Shadow the Hedgehog did the best example of a 'choose your own adventure' book in a game I'd ever seen.
I only like the 2D ones. The first Sonic Adventure was alright. I just wish they would make a GIANT 2D sonic game that has some sort of snadbox type deal...or something like Mario 64 concerning levels.
