Toyotas make some of the best cars in the world today, so unless Renault has picked up the production standards since last I drove them, I doubt they'd match a Toyota. (I'm no Toyota freak, I own nothing but Dodges) But about the Renaults anyway, we don't have them here in the U.S. in terms of new ones. We do have the Eagle Renault Medallions that were utterly useless pieces of crap, and they are 17 years old at the newest. However, I'd sure like to get my hands on a Clio V6 24V, if I could. Thems be sweet.

And about the Malibu, why? Okay, they're nice looking, but that's it. I'm surprised they still make them, cause the 1st gens were subpar cars, and the 2nd gen are just unreliable. According to the official studies, JD power and Consumer Reports stated that the Malibus were "Way below average" in terms of problems per 100 vehicles. Then, there's the repairs that I've seen them go through. I'm a former GM service technician, and I saw a lot of Malibus come in, and not just for oil changes.

But if you mean a 67' Malibu SS convertible 327, hell yes!!

Okay, didn't mean any offense. See, I'm coming from owning 23 different cars and having driven or used over 150 different cars as demos, so I've driven a ton!

Malibus are nice riding, I'll admit.

I love Renaults

Out of the 2 I'd go Prius, because I hate the Yaris adverts

Nope, only the following of the list were lemons. The rest of them I just would buy and horde them in my driveway until the neighbors got mad.

99' and 85' Honda Civic #1 and #2. (Third was okay)
05' Ford...something Star 823 miles (needed new engine)
and the Detomaso Panterra (caught fire on the way home)

The: Ford Thunderbird 94' V8, Mazda 626 89', Acura Legend 92', Toyota Tacoma 85', Toyota Corolla 96', Geo Metro 96', Honda Accord 83', Ford Taurus 95', Jeep Cherokee 88', Mercury Sable 99', Triumph TR7 77', Honda C series (78', 79' and 77'), Honda Euro 76', Mitsubishi Galant 01', Chrysler Phantom R/T 89', Acura RSX 02', and VW Corrado were all okay. Whew!!

buy a Toyota Corolla. It's infinitely reliable and I thinkt he cheapest car to own since it rarely has problems, the parts are cheap, it gets good gas mileage, and it doesn't have too many frills.

I will concur with eesty's selection. Corolla's as cheap as the Yaris and a well-known reliable car. It gets ~35 mpg (same as the Yaris), and has the benefit of not being nearly as ugly.

I drive a corolla and while I hate it in theory (All chinese drive corollas), I can't argue against fuel efficiency.

30 L per week (30 L = 7.92516154 US gallons) is what I spend on it. And I drive a 2003 model.

That depends on how much a week you drive. If you drive 280 km a week, then that's not great gas mileage at all. I only use 20 L per week, but I drive only 190 km a week.

But I know Corollas get good mileage. I had one, and it was a 6L car (6L/100 km) 38-41 MPG

I forgot to put in how much I drive.

About 500 KM a week.

Someone mentioned Mazda's earlier in the thread. I test drove a Mazda 3 and a 6 before I bought my car. They're both awesome. My Sister-in-law bought a 6 and adores it.
I didn't end up buying either car, but it wasn't because I didn't like them. Hubbie works for Ford, which owns Mazda, but his discount on Fords was better at the time.
And Mommy car? Already?! You guys aren't wasting any time!
And foa, babies are small yes, but car seats and diaper bags and strollers take up alot of room...

Okay, I may conceed to get a Corolla but I'm gonna still look at a Prius and Yaris and Mazda 3. And RAV4. I want a RAV4 but we already have a truck so I should get a small car... But taller cars are easier to load carseats in and out of!
