It doesn't take as long as you think to make your characters strong. It does take time, but if you know what you're doing it shouldn't take too long. This is FF, remember. If you're planning on running through it in the shortest amount of time possible without bulking up your characters, you're going to have trouble.
If you are mid-level (30-60ish), then you can draw some pretty decent magic from enemies and Junction that. If you keep your levels low throughout the game and Junction just moderate-level magic then it should be fairly easy to run through it like you want to.
I think so many people have trouble with Adel because they use their GFs to blast their way through the game and neglect drawing and Junctioning. Then when they get to Adel, they end up killing Rinoa because the GFs are all multi-target attacks. If they can't use their GFs then they get slaughtered because their stats are horrible.
Like Sephiroth1999AD said, Armageddon fist is just a Duel strategy where you use only Punch Rush and Booya over and over again. This way you can get over 20 attacks in under 12 seconds.
Quistis's most powerful Blue Magic is Shockwave Pulsar. It has been known to break the damage limit of 9999 like Eden, although I have never done it myself. You need 1 Dark Matter to teach it to her. That is obtained by refining 100 Curse Spikes using Siren's Tool-RF when she is at level 100. Her second most powerful Blue Magic is Ray-Bomb, and you can teach her that with a Power Generator.
There is no Hastaga in 8. I'm pretty sure the only game that has that is 10 and probably 10-2.

Listen this is how it is: I didn't spend extra time on FFVIII searching for rare objects, super-duper magic and insane progress with lvl's, I just wen't through the storyline as fast as I could, I don't really have time to spend hours and hours trying to be the best, I just want to finish as fast as possible (so pending on my situation i would like a fast, efficient way to beat adel), and no i don't have Armaggedon Fist either.
