Its charm is unmatched. The comedy makes up a hundred-fold for all its cheesy sentimentality.

*Nominates "R.O.U.S. man" for best performance by an actor in a monster suit.

All of the good lines that come to mind have been taken so I'll just add:

    *tumbling downhill- "Assss yoooouuuuu wwwiiiiissssshhhhhhhhh!!!"

Brian: "If I remember correctly, this is the Physics Department."
Chris: "That would explain all the gravity."

When I was your age, T.V. was called books.

And who can forget the lip-synching part where the grandpa's voice is overdubbed onto Vinzinni's character. Haha... "Do you hear that sound, highness? Those are the shrieking eels!" "Past that, Grandpa. You already read that part."

Interesting that I just watched that movie with the family tonight. It's a great movie, quite funny.

And I just read the book a few weeks ago. All the sudden people I know are talking about it and webcomics are referencing it... it's like y'all were watching and waiting until I'd read it (though I've seen the movie before a lot as a child, I could hardly remember it until we rewatched it again today) before exploding into The Princess Bride chatter.

    Silly stalker peoples.

I love this movie. It was one of my favourites while growing up (along with the Dark Crystal and the Labyrinth).

Oh, I've known about The Princess Bride pretty much all my life. People just didn't really talk about it much unless it was shown recently or something.

Trust me when I say that if people were talking about it even before I'd read the book, I'd have known what they were talking about. Sure, my only contribution to the conversation would most likely be "Oh, I used to love that movie as a kid!", but I'd still know.

"Sonny, true love is the greatest thing in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe [smacks his lips] they're so perky, I love that."

And of course, who can forget:

    "Have fun stormin da castle!"

    Classic, classic, classic.

    Take care all.
