When I got my FFII US SNES cartridge (back in the day) it most certainly did not have any save files. I have never bought a new cartridge game ever that came with save files. Pretty clearly someone was using it before it got sold, although who knows if it's tampered packaging or if someone at the factory snagged it off the line, took it home and played it, and then later stuck it back on the line with the new games. Personally I'd guess the packaging was tampered with.

Also, the original SNES games were not in a sealed plastic wrapper. The box itself is sealed in wrapping but not the cartridge. I think, but am not completely sure, that the cartridges were in plastic that was not at all sealed, just like a loose sleeve.

The box was wrapped up in plastic. Not the cartridge.

someone could have opened the game and then rewrapped it after market, I suppose.

ive seen loads of games like that! in gamestation (my local gamestore) they repackage games all the time but they are sold as second hand becuase they are honest plus its illegal to sell second hand games as new.....so im afraid you've been had! but its quite easy to sell repackaged second hand games as new becuase ive done it to my mates (i sold FF1 for £100 to my mate "brand new" eventhough i bought it second hand for £30) so watch out in future!

I wouldn't be surprised. I'm guilty of paying $10 for a game, re-shrink wrapping it, and returning it for $50 at Wal-Mart. >_>

I played FF 4 (aka FF 2) as an SNES ROM, but it's basically like an exact copy of what a new cartridge would be like. It had no saves filled, therefore we can guess that a new cartridge shouldn't either. I beleive you were fooled into buying a used copy that looked new. I've bought old games before packaged and looking flawless; pretending a used game is new can be done quite easily.

My original game definitely started with "The Red Wings." You must have played a used game.

My cartridge did I didn't know where the place was but now I know it was the town where you do the thing with the well and the tunnel to the center opens. Right outside of the town

    EDIT
    Lol you cant understand that.

Its the town that you use the key in the well to make a tunnel underground appear.

    EDIT2
