Thread: FFII SNES Cartridge that came with Save Files

Default FFII SNES Cartridge that came with Save Files

For those of you that have a FFII SNES Cartridge, do you remember whether or not it started with save files? Because for some reason mine did even though it was wrapped up in plastic when I got it.

This is where each of the save files were saved:

    Save 1: Lunar Subterranean
Save 2: Near King Giott's Castle after Cid modifies the Airship
Save 3: Upper Tower of Bab-il with Rubicant guarding the door to ther Crystals
    Save 4: Lunar Subterranean

Wow, that's strange. I'm pretty sure it isn't supposed to start out with save files (it should just start out with the opening sequence if there are no saves), but when I played the game a long time ago, it was after my uncle had played it, so...

How long ago did you get the game?

Maybe someone put plastic on it to trick you into believing the game was unused.

I'm pretty sure my cartridge didn't have any saves on it when I got it.

I don't think my cartridge had any saves on it. Granted I got the cartridge almost 15 years ago and can't remember anymore...

All I remember was that I took off the game's plastic and played it on the same day 11 years ago.

My original copy was save-free. After that copy was destroyed, my second copy was from a second-hand store. First two files were copies of each other, ready to go down into Lunar Subterrane. Third and Fourth Files blank.

While not directly correlated, my copy of Mystic Quest had three save files halfway through the game with the hero's name as 'SQUARE' when I got it brand new.

My copy had save files, although that was because someone gave it to me. ^_^

New games don't come with save files. You're either remembering it wrong or you copy was used.

So I'm not alone. It's kind of weird how we're the only 2 who had save files on our FF Games. Which also reminds me, on the files that were already there Cecil was renamed Chaos, Edward was renamed Scale, and Yang was renamed Blade.

I remember for sure it was wrapped up in plastic before I played it for the fist time.

Are you saying that you remember that much about the save files from 15 years ago or did you get the game recently? If you got it recently I find it hard to believe that you would actually open up a sealed copy.

I first played FFIV in 1996.
