That Ringing in Your Ears ...

Sometimes, at seemingly random times, I get a a small ring in my ear. It doesn't last long, but it's weird. I've had my ears checked and they're in good working order.

My friends, actually, complain about having the ringing, too. Is this normal? Or is it a sign that we're all going to go deaf one day? Have YOU ever had that ringing in your ears?

I get that all the time! I figured it was because I listen to music through headphones way too loud and my ear drums were dying, but this gives me hope it's just normal.

i dont get it that bad anymore.........usually when its quiet i notice it.........

I always have it, faintly, and it's a sound that is contained within my head. I think it's just the inner workings of my brain or something.
Though I only notice it when it's quiet.

Actually, now that I've started school again, I don't get it as much as I used to. Strange.

The ringing could also mean that you have a more sensible audition if it makes you feel better.

Makes me look stupid when I ask my friends if they can hear it too.... they look at me like i'm crazy.

yes, i hear that almost often. they always sound like flatlines to me. sometimes they're loud and difficult to drown out those stupid sounds. everytime i tell my older brother, he tells me that i am going deaf. one thing for sure is, i do hear better with one ear than the other. i would never admire too much silence, otherwise, these sounds would be the only thing i'd be listening to...
