Another Weird Rant From PAK: The Little Mermaid
Okay, so Disney's version of "The Little Mermaid" comes to DVD soon...
Is it just me or can we all sorta see this as a story about low self-esteem that leads to cosmetic surgery to fit into a society that is unexcepting of people of different species, race, and culture?
I mean, she totally changes who she is all in the name of 'love'... She wasn't an ugly duckling. Maybe it should have gone more like the 80's movie "Splash" starring Tom Hanks and Darryl Hannah. :laugh:
Hmm maybe, but just be glad that disney changed the orginal storyline of the The Little Mermaid. In the original book version Aeiral becomes a human inorder to marry a man so she can share his soul, because merpeople didnt have souls they simply turned into sea foam when they died. And in the end of the orginal story Aeiral died, there was no happy ending.

it's a cute little story with cartoon characters who are rather one-dimensional and catchy songs.
