[Malboro_Menace]

Ok so I saw a collectors box with the whole series of Neon Genesis Evangelion and some manga for AU$100 (USA$75). So I was wondering if anyone has seen it and if its worth getting. (Downloading not an option as I only have dial-up... don't laugh at me )

Oh yeah and I have a...checklist of other stuff I've seen. Seeing as pretty much all of you are into anime and manga I was wondering if any of this stuff is any good:

Full Metal Alchemist

Gundam Wing

Gundam Seed

Eureka 7

Cowboy Bebop

It's pretty good, the Manga is better than the anime though. You might want to make sure you can get a hold of The End of Evangelion (ie the alternate ending to the series) as the original ending in the show is really, really terrible. You might also want to make sure the box set is the ‘Platinum Edition’ of Evanelgion, as the original DVDs are of fairly <img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif">ty quality and don’t include the Director’s Cut footage.

Out of the latter list, I can only confirm that Cowboy Bebop is any good. Gundam Wing is horrible, I've heard terrible things about Full Metal Alchemist and have only read the first volume of the Gundam Seed manga (it didn't grab me).

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of the best animes out there! Definitely worth getting the dvds and the mangas too --mangas have not been completed yet, you'll find vol 1-9, vol 10 has not been published in english version yet--

As for the others:
FMA-- 6/10

Gundam Wing-- 4/10

Gundam Seed-- 6/10

Eureka 7-- don't know

Cowboy Bebop-- 6,5/10

The anime starts off slow, but turns into a really great mindsmurf. One of my favourite series'. Yes, also get End of Evangelion.

Gundam Wing is an old favourite of mine, Gundam Seed is also pretty good. I haven't bothered to watch enough of FMA to form an opinion on it, and I haven't seen any of the others.

I've never seen Gundam Seed but I love the rest of those on that list. Eureka Seven began to bore me after a while though. It should not have gone for 50 episodes.

Just ignore the hype. Those anime have so much hype around them that if you go in with expectations you'll probably not enjoy them.

Out of that list, I pick Eureka 7. Wholeheartedly.

Then as Dreddz reccomended, watch RahXephon. Love that show :P
You should have seen Cowboy Bebop already.

and also i really enjoyed fate/Stay night, Ah! My Goddess, Hellsing, and Ranma 1/2, along with DB, DBZ, and DBGT

i like the hellsing,ranma, and DB manga better than the anime though..
