Sometimes I wonder if Square realizes how mundane and uninspired these English names they keep giving their characters really are.
The name "Lightning" doesn't bother me.
I think somethiing that could double as an English name and a Japanese name would work well.
Names like Snow or Raine would be much better over Lightning.

If they named a character 'Snow', they might as well start calling them--Winter, Hail and Blizzard.

You could do a typical FF-style thing and call him Drizz but with a full name of King Drizzledon dal Engrandios XVI
