Soda or Pop

Reading a different thread gave me an idea. What do you call that unhealthy yet oh-so tasty soft drink that rots your teeth and comes with fast food?

I call it soda by nature, but all these weirdos in the midwest call it "pop" for some reason, which drives me batty.

I call it by what it is. Coke. Sprite. Dr. Pepper. Puerto Rican Rum. Just... whatever.

What's there to discuss here? Soda is a fact of nature. You don't dispute that. All men are born free despite what their society says. Carbonated drinks are soda. Pop is slavery.

Here in San Diego we call in soda. In Louisiana where I grew up it's called Soda pop or "Coke" as a generic term.

in japanese "souda" means "that's right." Thus, soda is right. So pop must be left. Why is pop left? Because no one drinks pop! They drink soda!
