Yes, I hopped on a friend's character for about four hours when I was at his house.

    Same old, same old.

I imagine Nightfall will be similar.

The only thing I won't fault the game on is graphics, Prophecies does look beautiful and Factions is just even more so.

Sadly, that doesn't make up for the complete lack of PvE depth, PvP variety, game engine or awful community.

Actually, I could type about 100000000000000 (probably less) wonderful thoughts on Factions Story, I was like "yay they did it right" when I got to the end.... cept that ass of a (SPOILER)Mhenlo Died not >-> though I’m a fanboy and everything.... so weeeeeh!

My only problem with the story was the fact that Eve didn’t get very much character development T-T

But actually, speaking of nightfall, they are mass improving on the PvE (apparently its going to be focused around it) and now we have no need for people, Henchman are now manipulatable and we can now use Heroes and pretty much Customize his/her/its att and skills, and well that’s about all I can remember so far :\

So uhh...if you don't need people, why play it online at all?

Just go play Oblivion or something instead.

    Default My warrior isn't 55.

You dun need a 55 to farm minotaurs, any builds can be used to farm minotaurs and also other stuffs.

Game engine can be kinda suck, and PvP is really straightforward, but I blame the unfunness of PvE on the terrible community as opposed to not giving interesting things to do. Actually, I like the PvE campaign in GW better than any of the other bland stuff you see in other MMOs. It's just impossible to get into a decent group unless you know everyone you're playing with.

Especially considering that the main hubs for social interactions are spammed to death by wts, lfg, or run advertisements, so you can't actually just talk. If you do, you get called a fag and then promptly get flooded out by the messages.

If I could find a solid group to run PvE with, I'd probably still play - I always had a blast playing with my friends before they abandoned it. It's pretty awful trying to get anywhere by yourself. Running with henches sucks and trying to find a group to do anything but missions (and you HAVE TO DO BONUS DUDE I CAME INTO THIS FOR THE BONUS LET'S GET BONUS C'MON GUYS BONUS DUDE YOU SKIPPED THE BONUS THIS IS GAY I'M LEAVING) is nigh impossible.

So yeah. Ruined by a weak community. Definitely.

I managed to get the protector title with PUGs. It can be done and usually takes some patience that's all.

Meh. This might sound weird, but I need two things to sink into a RPG: Story and atmosphere.

The story of Prophecies is the most boring script I've ever read. We went there, killed that, lost a buddy, then went somewhere else, killed something, lost someone again, bla bla bla. Unless there's some major revelation in the end of game that makes you go "Wow! That made sense!" or something else in Sherlock Holmes style, I can say with full confidence that the playwrite needs to be thrown out of the window.

Now to the atmosphere: The music was good, but not for a game that you'll play for a long time. Instead of actually creating an atmosphere, you'll simply turn off the sound and throw some CDs into the drive. Nor do you actually meet people. The fact that the wilderness is simply a bunch of monsters that always spawn in the same location was probably the poorest feature. Like "Ok, guys. Heal up, there'll be two more of those scorpion thingies behind that tree there." And of course, the world was not bound together, which was the worst of all these drawbacks. The map sure is useful, but you know what I mean.

Anyhow, I've got an E/R 19, stuck somewhere in the desert and a R/Mo in the Shiverpeeks. I never felt the desire to buy Factions or Nightfall after the first chapter. Though I loved the graphics, they simply didn't compensate the world of single levels and the lack of something interesting behind half a million of killed enemies.

I could imagine starting playing it again, if I’d get a good team of people that you can actually chat with. I’m in the GMT + 1 zone (Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin).

EDIT: The quests were still the worst. Go there and kill that... or... Go there and bring it back. There were cooler ones too, like go there, kill that and bring it back. Terrible lack of innovation!

EDIT2: I think I've repeated the bit about "the worst" feature a bit too often.
