I can't even think of anything to contribute to this discussion, let alone 100![]()

I may have come close yesterday. I was so bored, I think I posted in nearly ever new thread in GC last night for half an hour. Then I went to bed feeling bad about having nothing better do but put off college work. >_< Then I saw the procrastinating thread.
The forum for the online beta test I worked on was pretty cool in the fact that in the ooc part of the forum (out of character not context in this case) we had threads for spamming in that were held as competitions of a sort to see if the members of the forum could manage it. The First competition was to get to 1000 replies in the same thread. We did that in a leisurely pace (infact due to the fact that players tended to run out of things to spam about that they hadn't already spammed about it took a lot longer than I expected it to). The forum was tiny so getting there took a while (well small in comparison to here only about 400 members from around the world and a vast percent spoke French only). After completing that one we decided to up the ante, and open a 10,000 post thread which took almost 2 years to complete. The last 500 posts were made by about 5 people (myself and tinkers included here) in one day which easily equates to 100 in a day. Add to this the other threads we kept posting in we had made 200+ in one day. After that they opened a 100,000 post thread and as far as I know it's still running.
So 100+ posts in a day is no problem. The problem is being a moderator/admin for that thread (I was on the 10,000 post one and the 100,000 post one and I was the only one to actually moderate it and decide what stayed and what went) As I had trouble getting online all the time if I was off for like 3 days as I frequently was if an argument kicked off and I had to moderate it I could have to wipe 300 posts off the forum and then make sure it never flared up again.
I'm sure if I could if I really wanted to, but why would anyone want to?
I don´t know maybe in one of those days where i was home all the time i might have posted about 50 to 60 times...but more than 100 i don´t think so...
Quality over quantity, my friend.
EDIT: I've just noticed: I've posted 1256 times here, but only started 49 threads...

Expect a marked spamming increase resulting from this thread.![]()
If we take the average waking day to be sixteen hours (twenty-four hours with eight hours sleep), and knock-off two and a half hours for eating/toilet, and assuming that you had no other problems such as connections, we'll consider the following factors.
Np = t/(ty + ld + sea)
Where Np is the number of posts possible
t is time
ty is the time it takes you to type a post
ld is the time it takes a forum page to load
Sea is the time it takes you to find a topic that has been posted in recently (remember that EoFF has a rule against double-posting).
Time we've already established to be thirteen and a half hours, which is about 810 minutes. That would be t.
Typing would depend upon the post. A good typist can probably type at about 65~70 words per minute. To not constitute as spam it must be at least two sentances (feel free to dispute this one). They need to be of decent length. At the moment I'm averaging about ten words a sentance. We'll make that our minimum. So, considering you type ten words at 67.5 words per minute, that's 0.3 minutes to type (about twenty seconds). If we add on an average variance of +10%, that's approximately twenty two seconds to type out a "full post".
Loading would depend upon your connection. Let's take the best case scenario. You haven't quoted anyone (so you won't get that annoying "please click here to go on" jazz), your connection is steady and EoFF doesn't grind to a hault. If you're on a standard ADSL/Cable connection at best you could be looking at up to 2Mbits per second. Checking this page, it's about 17.49 Kilobytes. I'm going to shoot in the dark here and say that the average page will be somewhere in the realm of 15~30kB at best, giving us an average of 17.5kB's. On a 2Mb connection, that would take 143360/2,000,000 = 0.07 seconds to load each page. If we consider that we have to load the topic, the reply screen, the topic again, and then go load another forum, that's 0.28 seconds in total.
Now comes the searching time. This is aided greatly by blue chocobo's and red folders, so it's down to thinking time and acuity. Since human beings have very fast reflex responses, we can assume it wouldn't take long for us to see a link and click on it. At a guess I'd say around 0.5 seconds on a bad day. But what if we load up a forum that hasn't had a new topic? Since we can't double post we have to move onto another forum, which is more loading time (0.07 seconds) and more thinking time (0.5 seconds). Let's say that you're logically scanning each posts, and that the forum remains generally active. I'd say that, on average, to find a new topic to post in, would take 2.28 seconds (thats 0.5 + 0.07 * 4).
So, our big fat equation comes out as follows;
48600 (810 minutes in seconds) / 22 + 0.28 + 2.28
= 48600 / 24.56
= 1978.82
= 1978 (rounding down)
So yes, it's very much possible, and probably within the first half an hour if you were on the ball. This is, of course, best case scenario only.
There is no signature here. Move along.
In a forum of this size I would imagine with would be quite an easy feat to accomplish.
As you can see, I'm newso I dont know how many I'll have haha
Good luck finding 100 threads that warrant a response.
The Man used to post like forty times a day during his early stay here, and half of them were essays.
