My mum harassed me into saying: "mum". So that was my first word. How boring. Since I was old enough to talk properly, I've called them by their first names rather than "mum" or "dad". That'll teach her for making my first word something so dull.

They say my first word was shoe. But it wasn't in English.
It was probably mum, dad was barely around.
