For those about to rock, what follows is the song list from said post. If you don't want to know what they are Look Away Now!

Righto, here's my thoughts on them:

    Strutter - Kiss : Meh
Mother - Danzig : Why not?
Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters : Not in any way a Foo fan in the least, but at least it's one of their not-so-bad one's
Shout At The Devil - Motley Crue : Down with the crue!
Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight - Spinal Tap : This controller goes up to 11.

    Amp-Warmers:
Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana : Noice
Message In A Bottle - Police : NOICE!
Woman - Wolfmother (artist not confirmed) :
You Really Got Me - Van Halan (Kinks) : Classic rock song
Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas : No dust in the wind? Sheer madness!

    String Snappers:
Surrender - Cheap Trick : Who?
Them Bones - Alice in Chains : OMG OMG OMG!!!! *has a snorgasm and dies*
Search and Destroy - Stooges (artist not confirmed, but it damn well better be the stooges!) : Dunno this one.
Tatooed Love Boys - The Pretenders: Likewise
War Pigs - Sabbath : I prefer the Faith No More arrangement, but hey it's another classic Sabbath one (Ironman is always fun to do on GH1)

    Thrash and Burn:
Cherry Pie - Warrant : Sneh?
Who Was In My Room Last Night - Butthole Surfers : Ha, Butthole Surfer!
Girlfriend - Darkness (artist not confirmed), some say Mathew Sweet : ???
Can’t You Hear Me Knocking - Rolling Stones : Don't know any Stones
Sweet Child of Mine - GnR : THIS isn't the top song to play? O boy, the last one's are going to be hardcore.

    Return of the Shred:
Killing In The Name - Rage Against The Machine : Hells yeah! Kick ass stuff. I this song.
John The Fisherman - Primus : I'm thinking that this song will take full advantage of the promised bass track with every song (woe betide the co-op player who gets the bassline for THIS song).
Freya - Sword (artist not confirmed) : As in the Valk Profile character?
Bad Reputation - (too hard to say, my guess is Thin Lizzy, but could be Joan Jett) : A bit of Thin Lizzy is always good
Jessica - Allman Brothers : Needs more cowbell

    Relentless Riffs:
Crazy On You - Heart : Not alone? Arse, I can't sing along
Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart - STP : Dunno this one
Rock This Town - Stray Cays : Meh?
Last Child - Aerosmith : Unless it's from wasted Aerosmith era it's not worth listening to.
Stop - Janes Addiction (artist not confirmed, but I really hope it’s Janes Addiction.) : Can't say I know this one either

    Furious Fretwork:
Madhouse - Antrhax : DOWN WITH THE THRAX!!

    Already confirmed songs:
    Hangar 18 - Megadeth : O yes!
Laid to Rest - Lamb of God : BOOOOAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
    Misirlou - Dick Dale : ?
Beast and the Harlet - Avenged Sevenfold : Ick, no. Avenged Sevenfold = Lose
Freebird - Lyn Skyn : They don't really want you to play this, they're just heckling you
    YYZ - Rush. : ?
Psychobilly Freakout - Rev Horton Heat : ?

Overall opinion: A few really awesome songs on there, and a whole boatload that I just don't know (the first GH I knew each of the songs/artists, but about 40% of the artists on offer here I've never heard of). To be honest it's a bit dissapointing, but hey they may turn out to be fun to play.

I'm not yet decided if I should wait for the 360 version, which is very likely to have downloadable songs. Maybe I'll just get both.

I don't know most of those songs since I haven't been exposed to this kind of music for a long time, but I'm sure it'll be good. I do know Misirlou though, cool song :P

The lack of Iron Maiden still makes me a very sad panda. I'm still pumped for the game, though. I got Guitar Hero just two weeks ago and cursed myself for waiting so long. I only have Cowboys from Hell and BATM to go on expert to have completed it. Then i'll just be pining for number 2. :D

Looking forward to the Police and Sweet Child O'Mine, Megadeth sucks scrotum though.

They've mentioned including Every Time I Die, but I didn't see it on the track list.

    Also, Surrender for the win~

Seriously though. The thought of how awesome The Number of the Beast would be on Guitar Hero is enough to drive me mental.

Regarding the encore, is it a case now whereby you can choose to play several songs one after another? The one thing that annoyed me about GH1 was that you could never play a "concert", just individual songs.

Oh man, oh man, oh man. Carry On My Wayward Son? Hell yes please. Jessica? Hell yes please x 2.

This is a fantastic track list. I'm going to have to get this game for myself and stop playing it at my boyfriend's apartment.

    Signature by rubah. I think.
